PARIS, NOV 29 – Manchester United recorded a 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, marking Ruben Amorim’s first game at Old Trafford, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring twice.

United trailed in the first half against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, but bounced back to record their second straight Europa League win since the sacking of Erik ten Hag, after starting the campaign with three draws.

“Half of this stadium doesn’t know me, I come from Portugal and haven’t contributed anything to this club. However, the way they make me feel at home is something special,” Amorim told TNT Sports.

Manchester United scored in the second minute of former Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim’s first game as new manager at Ipswich on Sunday, and they needed just under 60 seconds to break the deadlock against Bodo/Glimt.

The visitors’ goalkeeper, Nikita Haikin, was under pressure from a poor pass, and his attempt to save the ball was blocked by Rasmus Hojlund, allowing Alejandro Garnacho to score into an empty net.

However, United’s defensive weaknesses were exposed when Hakon Evjen equalized in the 19th minute, followed by Philip Zinckernagel who put Bodo/Glimt ahead four minutes later.

United looked short of ideas until the final moments of the first half, when Noussair Mazraoui’s cross found Rasmus Hojlund, who cleverly controlled the ball with a creative touch before unleashing a calm volley into the bottom corner.

The hosts were back in front less than five minutes after the restart, when Manuel Ugarte crossed in front of goal for Hojlund to finish. – AFP
