BEACHWOOD, Ohio — The Mandel Jewish Community Center’s J-Day Camps is ushering in a new era with the unveiling of a new logo, as well as a different, innovative approach to programming for summer, 2025.
The updates, according to The J, reflect a renewed commitment to providing exceptional summer experiences for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
At the helm of the transformation is Director Aubree Lieberman, who has been leading J-Day Camps since February.
Lieberman, who has extensive experience in youth programming and outdoor recreation, will seek to build on the work she began during the past summer.
“This year marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for J-Day Camps,” Lieberman said, in a release. “Our reimagined programming is designed to inspire curiosity, foster creativity, and help every camper achieve personal growth in a fun and supportive environment.
“From expanded outdoor adventures to skill-building opportunities, we are dedicated to offering experiences that are not just memorable, but meaningful.”
Under Lieberman’s leadership, the camp introduces a progressive, age-appropriate approach that combines fun with intentional learning.
New programs include the Teva Nature Program, which immerses campers in outdoor exploration, along with expanded activities at Halle and Safran Parks. These programs have been added to provide a mix of discovery, creativity and skill-building for campers of all ages.
The program’s redesign emphasizes goal-setting and personal achievement to help campers develop confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
Whether it’s foundational learning for younger children or advanced skill development for older participants, The J states that every session is intended to ensure growth and engagement in a nurturing environment.
New logo
The new logo, which seeks to capture the spirit of J-Day Camps, is a reflection of its mission and values.
The sun symbolizes the joy and vibrancy of summer, while the blue line represents the lake and pool — integral parts of the camp experience.
The whimsical font conveys the freedom and excitement of summer adventures, and the gradation on the “J” highlights the camp’s progressive programming, the diversity of its community, and the growth campers can experience year after year.
“This logo is a testament to our commitment to embracing nature, fostering growth, and creating a space where every camper can thrive,” Lieberman said.
Registration for returning campers for summer, 2025 begins Dec. 2. Registration for non-returning Mandel JCC members starts Dec. 4, while for the general public, registration begins Dec. 16. Sessions are expected to fill quickly.
