A child drowned in a blanket, there is no element of crime

MELAKA, DEC 10 – The initial police investigation found that there was no element of abuse on the six-month-old male child who was found dead with his face covered in a blanket at his nanny’s house in Merlimau, Jasin yesterday.

Jasin District Police Chief, DSP Ahmad Jamil Radzi when contacted said a physical examination of the body of the child did not show any element of criminal activity.

“We are still waiting for the laboratory report of the autopsy results, while any application for remand (on the nanny) depends on the results of the autopsy and chemistry report,” he said.

Named yesterday reported that the damit’s son, Harraz Noah Nazrul Nizam, was noticed by his nanny lying on his back unconscious with a blanket covering his face, in the incident at about 11.30am.

The only child of the couple Nazrul Nizam Mohd Tahar, 29, and Ainol Izzah Raslan, 25, before the incident, was given milk and burped by his nanny and then put to sleep on a mattress.

His nanny then contacted Ainol Izzah and took him to Merlimau Health Clinic before being referred to Melaka Hospital and informed that the victim’s doctor had died. – Named
