CLEVELAND, Ohio – Zack Ward, the actor who portrayed the bully Scut Farkus in “A Christmas Story,” is scheduled to make several appearances in Greater Cleveland.
Hoppin’ Frog Brewery, which is bringing in Ward, has made Farkus’ Winter Warmer, an ale with spices at 8.6% alcohol. The cans tout the famous lines “Cry! Cry baby cry!” and “Say uncle!” The beer release is Thursday, Dec. 5, at the brewery.
In the 1983 movie, Ward’s character and his toadie pal Grover Dill bully Ralphie, who eventually hits a tipping point.

• 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6: Rowley Inn, 1104 Rowley Ave., Cleveland. (During filming, Darren McGavin, who plays The Old Man in the movie, was a regular at the bar, which sits across the street from the house where scenes were shot.)
• 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7: Winking Lizard Tavern, 14018 Detroit Ave., Lakewood.
• 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7: The Jenks Building, 1884 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls.
• 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8: Mustard Seed Market, 867 W. Market St., Akron (Highland Square neighborhood).
• 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 10: Cole’s Public House, 209 S. Main St., Amherst.
Ward, who has more than 100 acting credits to his name, also appeared in the 2022 sequel, “A Christmas Story Christmas.” In that movie, his character has become a police officer.
