LONDON, DEC 3 – A British Michelin-starred chef is appealing to thieves who made off with his van with 2,500 pies inside to ‘do the right thing’ by putting them somewhere where people in need can get them.
Tommy Banks, who owns two restaurants and a club in North Yorkshire, posted the appeal on Instagram yesterday saying his vehicle carrying £25,000 (US$31,622) worth of stock had been stolen, reports PA Media/dpa.
Banks in the video said the stock was for York Christmas Market.
“I know you’re a criminal, but maybe this time do something good because it’s Christmas season and maybe we can feed thousands of people with this pie you stole. Please do the right thing,” he said, suggesting the pie be given to a community center.
Banks also asked people who were offered pies from individuals other than himself to report them to the police.
Meanwhile, North Yorkshire Police said they had been made aware of the incident and asked anyone with information to come forward, according to the report. BBC. – Named
