Sport: Aalesund has had a horrible start to the season in the 1st division after last year’s relegation from the Eliteserien. Coach Christian Johnsen has been a man under pressure in recent weeks. His team delivered the year’s best against league leader Kongsvinger, but still failed to take all three points.

Claudio Braga opened the scoring when he tapped the ball into the goal after 21 minutes. Just six minutes later, Håkon Butli Hammer doubled the home team’s lead.

Five minutes before the break, Kongsvinger and Lucas Haren reduced the deficit. However, the joy was short-lived for the away team when Sander Kilen wide-sided the ball in the far corner and again increased the lead for Aalesund.

Then things would turn around for troubled Aalesund. Emil Nielsen reduced the score for Kongsvinger just after the hour mark, before Kongsvinger got his equalizer eight minutes later after Joel Nilsson put the ball neatly into the left corner.

The drama was not yet over in Ålesund. After 82 minutes played, Kristoffer Nessø ended a good Aalesund counterattack and regained the lead. Shortly afterwards, the match took another turn when Kongsvinger equalized once again through Lucas Haren.

The thriller finally ended in a tie. Surprisingly, Kongsvinger is probably most satisfied with the result in the end. This means that Kongsvinger remains at the top of the table, while Aalesund remains in the relegation places.

Much of the focus would be on Start’s Salim Nkubiri for the rest of the half. The Swede alertly picked up a weak back-play from Daniel Schneider and elegantly put the ball into the goal after 32 minutes.

Lyn responded immediately and repeated the lead two minutes later through Mathias Johansen.

Just before the break, Nkubiri received his first yellow card for stopping a Lightning counterattack. Two minutes later, the winger received his second yellow card after the referee deemed that he filmed in a situation with Solberg Nilsen inside Lyn’s penalty area.

After that, it was tiring for the yellow-clad ones. Start had the worst possible start to the half when Mathias Johansen scored just fifteen seconds after the break. The same man completed the hat-trick four minutes later and made the humiliation complete.

The victory means that Lyn climbs up to sixth place, the last promotion qualification place. The result means that Start falls into the relegation zone.

The draw means that EIK continues in 2nd place, two points behind league leader Kongsvinger.

Elsewhere in the league, Bryne won at home against Åsane, while it was a goal-rich match when Mjøndalen and Ranheim played 3-3.

Later on Sunday, Vålerenga will be visited by Moss in the capital.

There was no shortage of drama in Kristiansand when Lyn visited Start and Azar Karadas, who have had a weak start to the season. After 27 minutes, the home team was unlucky when Anders Bjørntvedt Olsen’s cross went via Deni Dashaev and past a substitute Jasper Torkildsen in the Start goal.

Promotion team Egersund has surprised big so far in the season, and was close to winning away against Sogndal. Unfortunately for the guest, they had to settle for 2-2 in the end.
