Adele gave Vegas a piece of her mind on Saturday night.
The Easy On Me hitmaker, 35, was performing her residency show in Nevada when she defended fellow popstar Taylor Swift against haters.
Speaking about tonight’s Super Bowl, in which the country singer’s boyfriend Travis Kelce is playing, Adele told the crowd: ‘I think I want the Chiefs to win just because Taylor Swift goes for them, and all of you complaining about Taylor being at the game, get a f***ing life!’
On behalf of the world’s huns, Adele continued: ‘It’s actually made it a bit more enjoyable to watch!’
The Kansas City Chiefs sportsman, 34, and the Cruel Summer singer, also 34, began dating in summer last year and have been inseparable ever since.
Naturally the pair’s romance has hit headlines, with Travis attending many of Taylor’s Eras Tour dates and the superstar returning the love by cheering him on at NFL games.
Having become a staple pitch side feature, naturally attracting a huge amount of media attention in the process, NFL fans have criticised the megastar for drawing the limelight away from the sport.
Taylor’s first appearance at a Chiefs game against the Bears in September was watched by 27 million people – making it the most-watched Sunday show since Super Bowl LVII in February.
Her presence has also increased the amount of women watching the sport by a staggering 37%.
Taylor has also reportedly boosted the NFL’s brand value by $122 million through the increase in interest in the sport, according to MarketWatch data.
Travis’ Chiefs are playing against the San Francisco 49ers at tonight’s championship, with Usher set to perform in the iconic half time show – a slot Rihanna held last year, when she revealed her pregnancy to the world.
Meanwhile Taylor is making a mad dash from a gig in Tokyo over to Vegas tonight, so she can be there to cheer on her beau just in the nick of time, flying 5,548 miles in a one-way trip.
The Associated Press reported that she headed straight from the Tokyo Dome on Saturday night to her private jet at Haneda Airport.
Even the Japanese Embassy got involved – of course – as they issued a statement to her fans assuring Swifties the star’s two commitments wouldn’t clash due to the time difference.
‘The embassy of Japan in the United States is aware of recent media reports concerning the steps Taylor Swift will need to take to travel from Tokyo after her concert on 10 February to Las Vegas in time to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play in Super Bowl LVIII,’ the Embassy of Japan in Washington D.C said in a statement.
The embassy continued in this truly bizarre collision of worlds: ‘Despite the 12-hour flight and 17-hour time difference, the embassy can confidently Speak Now to say that if she departs Tokyo in the evening after her concert, she should comfortably arrive in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins.’
The past few days have seen the Trouble hitmaker embroilled in controversy over her ‘frivolous’ flights – which have clocked up 10,000 miles in just 10 days, leaving to criticism over her carbon footprint.
In 2022 Taylor was named one of the biggest celebrity polluters in 2022, alongside the likes of Jay-Z and Kim Kardashian.
After Melbourne, she’ll make the 439-mile trip to Sydney as her tour continues, before heading to Singapore, Europe, and the UK.
Meanwhile, Adele is currently seeing out the last leg of her Las Vegas residency, which is running through to mid-June.
Despite the Easy on Me singer seeming to hint at a tour, Adele’s long-standing agent and industry titan, Lucy Dickins, doesn’t believe her next move will be that obvious.
‘I don’t know – she won’t do what everyone else does,’ Lucy told Metro.co.uk as she arrived at the Music Industry Trusts (MITS) Awards in London on Monday, November 6.
