BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 8 – The Ministry of Defense in a statement issued here, informed the public that the ministry has received a report following an incident of attack on a convoy carrying MALBATT Contingent 850-12 in Sidon, South Lebanon yesterday.
One of the buses is believed to have been hit by explosive fragments that injured an officer and five other people. The members only received minor injuries and were treated by the Lebanese medical team at the scene.
The Ministry of Defense has also received confirmation that the convoy safely arrived at its destination at 11.10pm Brunei time and that all members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces accompanying the convoy were reported safe.
The public is also urged not to make or spread any speculation related to the incident. Spreading false information is an offense under Chapter 34, Public Order Act, Chapter 148 – Spreading False Information.
