LEOTI, Kan. (KSNW) — Another semi hauling an oversized load through Kansas has lost its load.
It happened on Kansas Highway 96 near Leoti. According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, it happened shortly before 5 p.m. on the west side of Leoti on K-96.
The semi, which appears to be hauling another section of a windmill tower, overturned. The tower section then rolled off of the trailer into the ditch.
KDOT says just the westbound lane is closed due to the accident. It’s not known how long it will take to clear the accident.
K-156 Highway was shut down between U.S. Highway 283 and U.S. Highway 183 in Hodgeman Count on Monday after a semi-truck hauling a windmill tower lost its load and blocked traffic. A crane had to be brought to the scene to remove it. The highway has since reopened.
