Crime and justice: The accident happened on a busy road in the suburb of Ghatkopar in the east of the Indian financial capital, in heavy rain and strong winds on Monday. The advertising sign was mounted at a petrol station. The massive sign fell over houses and vehicles, local authorities say.

A major rescue operation was launched, with the use of an excavator. The rescue work was described as dangerous due to petrol pumps on site.

The billboard that fell down was 70 by 50 meters, according to Mumbai police.
