AKRON, Ohio — Since 2017, Avon and Kirtland have consistently played into Thanksgiving weekend.
Each time, Kirtland advanced to an OHSAA football state championship game. Until Friday night at InfoCision Stadium on the University of Akron’s campus, Avon just missed joining the Hornets in Canton.
