Policy: Biden has previously refrained from using the criminal cases against Trump politically because he does not want to give the impression that he is interfering with the judicial process.

Trump last year became the first former or sitting president in US history to be found guilty of a crime when a New York jury found that he violated accounting laws in connection with his personal lawyer paying porn star Stormy Daniels to keep a close eye on a affair she claims to have had with Trump.

“For the first time in American history, a former president who is a convicted felon is trying to become president,” Biden told a group of Democratic supporters at a fundraising event in Connecticut on Monday.

Biden added that Trump’s attacks on the judiciary are damaging. Trump denies having done anything wrong, and claims it is a mock trial and that the verdict is political.
