Sport: Fire informs on Monday that Wassberg has undergone surgery for the cruciate ligament injury he suffered in the match against Viking earlier in April.

– Niklas had surgery today for a cruciate ligament injury, and the operation went as it should. Now the rehabilitation and training starts for him, and we will follow him closely on the way back to the football pitch. We have to follow up month by month to see the progress, says fire doctor Arne Instebø.

Despite his young age, Wassberg has played 62 games for Brann’s A-team. He is the grandson of Roald “Kniksen” Jensen.

– The operation went well, and now I will take it easy for the next week. Then training starts to get ready again for next season, says Jensen Wassberg.

Brann is level on points with Bodø/Glimt and Molde at the top of the table in the Eliteserien, but Glimt has played one less game.
