Sport: The Norwegian came out in the qualification with 9th place in his group. Everyone who jumps over 8 meters goes straight to the final, and in total there are at least twelve athletes who go on.

Bratseth-Kiplesund opened the competition with two dead jumps. Before the last attempt, he had decided to bet a little earlier. He succeeded, but 7.82 meters was too short.

Bratseth-Kiplesund has had a troubled start to the season. His longest jump earlier this year was 7.80 metres.

Henrik Flåtnes opened with 7.16 meters and later advanced to 7.54 and 7.58. That gave 14th place out of the 15 athletes in his group.
