BROOK PARK, Ohio — A 47-year-old Fairview Park man, who led Strongsville police on a high-speed vehicle chase, was arrested on Interstate 71 in Brook Park.
Brook Park police were notified at about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 17 that the man, driving a Chevrolet Trax, was traveling northbound on Interstate 71 into Brook Park.
The Trax had been involved in a felony offense and police in other cities had pursued the sport-utility vehicle several times over the previous few days.
Brook Park police dropped tire-deflating devices on 71 at Interstate 480. The man’s Trax, along with a Honda CR-V, ran over the devices. All four tires on the Trax were flattened.
The man continued driving for about a half-mile before pulling over on 71 near the West 150th Street exit. The man and a passenger jumped from the Trax and ran. Police ran after them and caught them.
The innocent driver of the Honda CR-V had also pulled over her vehicle on 71. She was uninjured.
