Browns-Steelers Snow Bowl: Darcy cartoons

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns fans had something to give thanks for a week early. The Browns are not 2024 Super Bowl contenders but they did win the classic Snow-Sack Bowl over the Steelers 24-19 Thursday night at the stadium. It was a game complete with players on both team’s creating snow-angels and Steeler’s Russell Wilson not completing a ‘Hail-Mary’ pass to end the game.

Under-dawg Browns win over division-leading Steelers was led by Myles Garrett’s 3-sacks, Nick Chubb scoring the game winning TD with 57 seconds left and quarterback Jameis Winston playing his first game against the Steelers and in the snow.

The game had all the servings to make for a classic. Prime time Thursday night; vs. division-leading Steelers; stellar play by Browns stalwarts. After having a 12 point lead to start the 4th quarter, the Browns found themselves down 19-18 with just 3 minutes left, but drove down to the Steelers end zone for Nick Chubb to score on his 2 yard run.

It was a win Browns fans and the city deserved after the team’s stunning 2-8 losing start when they had been expected to be not just in the playoffs but possible Super Bowl contenders after winning 11 games last season with the #1 ranked defense and #10 ranked offense.

Browns are now 3-8 and two of those wins have come against 2 of the AFC’s top teams, the Steelers and Ravens. In two weeks the Browns have a rematch against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

SNOW GLOBE IN DOME?

The stadium turning into a Snow Globe generating Snow Angels naturally produced thoughts on the Browns possibly playing in a new dome stadium after 2029. Some saw the snow as an example why the Browns shouldn’t be playing in a dome and should remain playing in the natural elements. Others saw it as the perfect example of why the team should now play in a dome as the Super Bowl contending Detroit Lions do and the Minnesota Vikings. Snowy Minnesota’s dome stadium was designed by same firm who designed the Browns Brook Park Dome.

Winner of the ‘To Dome or Not To Dome?’ debate is yet to be determined. With modern advances in dome design couldn’t they create a snow globe effect inside a dome for under a $billion?
