BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 28 – Brunei Shell Oil Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) held a Thanksgiving Prayer Ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of two assets onshore namely the Seria Crude Oil Terminal (SCOT) which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, while the Furnace Gas Plant (TGP) is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The ceremony took place at Pusat Insani, Seria and was attended by the Deputy Minister (Energy) in the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah.
Also present were the Permanent Secretary at JPM, Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy) at JPM, Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra; Brunei Darussalam Petroleum Authority Managing Director, Awang Shamir Salahudin and BSP Managing Director, Johan Atema as well as retired Hydrocarbon Processing Manager.
The event provided an opportunity for BSP to recognize the dedication and professionalism of ‘Orang Kitani’ past and present, for their continued commitment to BSP and to show that BSP is united in contributing to the country.
“When we think of the achievements of SCOT and TGP, I believe they are the people who have driven the success and growth. Commitment and professionalism define the organization, allowing us to adapt and thrive over the past 25 to 50 years, and it will continue to drive us forward,” explained Johan Atema.
While the Asset Manager Onshore BSP, Haji Sufri bin Haji Sulaiman emphasized the marketability and value of BSP products to international customers.
He added, “Our products such as Brunei Light, Champion and Seria Light Export Blend have brought premium value in the market.”
“For the past 10 years, on average SCOT has loaded 100,000 barrels of crude oil to be delivered to our international customers,” he explained.
