Sport: Austria made a wild comeback in the third period. The team scored five times and equalized 48.8 seconds before the final whistle. Marco Rossi, who is a teammate of Mats Zuccarello in the Minnesota Wild, was responsible for the 6-6 goal.

The fun lasted just 15 seconds in extra time before John Tavares scored the game-winner for Canada, but Austria took a point in their fight for continued elite status.

It was the Austrians’ first point in the championship. Britain is now alone at the bottom. Norway took their first three points with a 2-0 win over Denmark earlier on Tuesday.

Canada won their first two World Cup games and looked to have settled Tuesday’s game as well. Six different players were on the scoresheet in the first two periods. It read 35-12 in the shot statistics and 6-1 in the goal record.

Canada won the shooting statistics in the final period as well, 13-9, but then Benjamin Baumgartner, Peter Schneider, Dominic Zwerger, Schneider again and then Rossi scored for Austria instead.

Canada is Norway’s next opponent on Thursday. Then the Norwegians must expect to meet a tough and revenge-seeking team.
