Canter with long-awaited victory on the European tour

Sport: With a final round of 72 strokes, he secured the victory prize of almost NOK 4.5 million. Thriston Lawrence from South Africa and Bernd Wiesberger from Austria finished in joint 2nd place.

Canter is the eighth player to take his first win on the European Tour this year. He triumphed in his 142nd tournament on the tour. Previously, he had four 2nd places as the best.

– This is what I have dreamed of, said Canter.

Espen Kofstad had a weak final round of 77 strokes and fell to shared 49th place. Kristian Krogh Johannessen did not make the cut after two rounds.

On the women’s European tour, French Perrine Delacour won the rematch against German Helen Briem for the victory in Helsingborg in Sweden. She did that with a birdie on the first extra hole.

Madelene Stavnar was the best of the many Norwegian participants with shared 35th place. She finished two strokes under par and thus nine behind the winner.

Dorthea Forbrigd (44th place) and Karoline Lund (59th place) were the other two who made the cut.
