Cardi B Implies States Get Hurricanes Because They Voted For Trump

UPDATED — 2:05 PM 11/06/2024

Cardi B has shared an updated message on social media praising Kamala Harris and telling her followers there’s “no need to [be] nasty” about election results.

“Before Kamala joined the race, we know how this country is set up and what was probably going to happen but it was so inspiring how she fought and changed so many minds, including mine.”

Below this line, the original story begins.

Prior to the results of the presidential election being called, Cardi took to X to voice her disdain for the outcome.

Cardi B shared, then promptly deleted a video message seemingly addressing early election results on Tuesday night.

“This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes,” the rapper said in the clip, which was deleted just a few minutes after it was posted on Tuesday evening.

Though Cardi didn’t mention the states she was referring to, her video came after the Associated Press called races in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and North Carolina in favor of Donald Trump. Prior to Trump’s official victory, she also tweeted, “We need a Hail Mary,” as results showed Kamala Harris trailing behind the convicted felon in other key swing states.

Page Six reports that Cardi didn’t stop there, in a series of InstaStories, Cardi blasted MAGA supporters.

“I hate y’all bad,” said Cardi with a sigh early Wednesday morning.

Her comment came after she went live on Instagram Live to make a similar statement.

“I swear to god, I’m gonna f–k you up,” said Cardi. “Get away from me! I’m sick of you! Burn your f–king hats, motherf–er.”

Cardi continued and admitted that she ultimately was just feeling really sad.

“No matter what, I know that [Harris is] probably emotional right now. I know there’s probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she’s not listening to this, but she will eventually see it.

“I just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her,” she added. “Women around the world are proud of her. Women of color are proud of her.”

It’s no surprise that the Love & Hip Hop alum isn’t happy with the election results.

On Friday, Cardi gave a speech at Kamala Harris’ rally in Wisconsin, where she admitted that she wasn’t even going to vote in this election until Joe Biden dropped out and Harris was added to the ticket.

“Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog,” she said to the audience. “I’ve been underestimated. My success, belittled and discredited. Women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better, and still, people question us [on] how we got to the top.”

Cardi also got into it with Elon Musk following her endorsement, with the X CEO criticizing a video of the rapper reading her speech off a phone after a teleprompter broke.

“Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words,” he tweeted. “The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”

In response, Cardi wrote: “I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you… But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm.”
