It was therefore only a one shot. The 35% Christmas bonus granted in 2023 to single-parent families will not be paid this year, said this Thursday the entourage of the Minister of Solidarity Paul Christophe, confirming information from TF1Info. “Last year was something exceptional. This did not exist before,” assures the minister’s entourage. The main reason given remains the current budgetary context. Last year, this measure was adopted in agreement with Parliament and affected more than 744,000 households, according to the Ministry of Labor.
Eligible single-parent families will therefore receive from December 13 a classic Christmas bonusthe amount of which varies depending on the size of the household. In detail, a single person with one child will receive, for example, 228.68 euros, a single person with two children 274.41 euros and a single person with three children 335.39 euros.
Paid automatically
This Christmas bonus is paid by CAF to beneficiaries of the basic RSA and the activity bonus or to beneficiaries of the Specific Solidarity Allowance (ASS). France Work can also pay “exceptional end-of-year assistance” to certain people. It is paid automatically in one go if you are eligible.
Although the Christmas bonus is not renewed, those around the Minister of Solidarity ensure that the government maintains a clear “interest” in single-parent families. Paul Christophe’s office cites in particular the extension of the free choice of childcare supplement (CMG) until the child is twelve years old compared to six today for single-parent families, from the start of the 2025 school year. CMG consists of “partial payment of the remuneration of an approved childminder”, specifies the government website.
