War and conflicts: The attack occurred at the Assyrian Orthodox Christ The Good Shepherd Church while a bishop was holding a service in the Sydney suburb of Wakeley on Monday at 7.15pm local time.

The speech was streamed online, according to TV channel 9News. The pictures show a teenager doing a lunge forward and stabbing Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel on the pulpit. According to Australian media, the bishop was stabbed several times.

Australian police also say that at least two police officers have been hospitalized following the knife attack. According to Andrew Holland of the New South Wales Police, the police officers were injured by others outside the church, who threw bottles, bricks and other objects as the police tried to reach the perpetrator.

No one is life-threateningly injured after the attack in the church. The local ambulance service has treated four people, of whom a man in his 50s has been sent to hospital. The arrested 15-year-old is cooperating with police, according to a statement from New South Wales police.

The incident took place just two days after six people were killed when a man stabbed several people at a shopping center in Sydney. However, there is no indication that the two knife incidents are connected.
