Economy and business: – There have been over 500 lightning and rainfall damages, the vast majority in Eastern Norway, says communications manager Bjarne Aani Rysstad in Gjensidige.

He says that this is spread over around 300 lightning and 200 water damage.

In the last seven or eight days, Gjensidige has registered damage reports for close to NOK 20 million after the storm in Eastern Norway.

And soon the rainy weather will start again – the weather forecasts for the coming days are not promising. It’s going to rain in Oslo. According to Yr, 35 millimeters of rain is expected there on Wednesday.

According to Gjensidige, they have recorded many typical torrential rain damages where drains and drainage are unable to remove the large amounts of water that arrive in a short time.

– The water penetrates into buildings via the terrain and there is also backlash from drains and drainage pipes, says Rysstad.

When lightning strikes, electrical equipment that is connected to the mains is mostly affected – such as refrigerators, routers, PCs, freezers, TVs and stereo systems.
