Coloring contest fosters interest in history

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, DEC 2 – The Brunei History Center (PSB) through the Publishing and Marketing Division held the Let’s Color History Contest activity in conjunction with the PSB Open Day 2024, yesterday.

The contest held at PSB, Bandar Seri Begawan was carried out as an effort to achieve one of PSB’s objectives, which is to expand the culture and application of history among the people and residents of Brunei Darussalam, particularly through the publication of reading material on the history of the country.

Among those present to witness the excitement of the event were the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Honorable Dato Seri Setia Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad; and Principal of PSB, Dr Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong.

A total of 120 participants participated in this contest, namely 50 participants from category A aged five to 11 years, 40 participants from category B aged 12 to 17 years and 30 participants from category C aged 18 years and above.

This contest also aims to introduce one of the latest books published by PSB which is History Coloring Book 1. Through this contest, it is also hoped to attract the interest of the public, especially children and youth, to know and learn the basics of the country’s history as a guide for the present and the future, further, open their minds to be interested in and appreciate the history of the country.
