HOUSTON, Texas — Famous country singer Jason Head, known professionally as Sundance Head, was hospitalized after accidentally being shot on his ranch in Texas on Friday.
Head, 46, is in stable condition after shooting himself while hunting. His gun slipped out of the holster, hit the side of his Jeep, discharged and struck him in the stomach area.
The musician who won “The Voice” in 2016 posted a video statement on Facebook.
“I’m still alive thankfully,” he said.
His wife Misty Head wrote on Facebook asking supporters for prayers.
“I‘m posting a pic of his shirt just so y’all can see how lucky he was. Any higher or lower would have been devastating. I can’t express how grateful we are for all the messages, calls, and prayers. God is AWESOME,” she wrote in an update on Facebook.
