Diallo became United’s hero with two goals

MANCHESTER, NOV 8 – Amad Diallo, often overlooked by former boss Erik ten Hag, scored twice as Man United beat PAOK 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Europa League yesterday.

The Ivory Coast winger put United ahead early in the second half with a header that bounced in after hitting the post.

Diallo was the hero to secure the hosts a much-needed three points, after three previous draws, with his efforts to snatch the ball from the defense and fire into the corner of the net with 13 minutes remaining.

“He (Diallo) is amazing in training, he always trains well and asks me to do more,” interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy told TNT Sports.

Van Nistelrooy’s next and final game in charge is this weekend’s Premier League trip to Leicester, before Ruben Amorim takes over after the international break.

“Sunday is another game and I’m very focused on doing that, so I’m not thinking about what’s going to happen next.” – AFP
