Sport: It was the Miami club’s first win in six games in all competitions. The last time they ran away with three points was the 3-1 win away to DC United on March 16.

The win also sent Inter Miami back to the top of the table. New York RB has the same number of points and one less game played.

However, it was the hosts who got off to the best start when Erik Thommy sent Sporting into the lead after just six minutes.

Admittedly, the lead only lasted 12 minutes before Diego Gómez equalized after being set up by Messi. Six minutes into the second half, the Argentine also completed the turnaround when he knocked the ball into the crossbar from about 20 metres.

– It was an incredible goal. He does things like that all the time, so it didn’t surprise me, said teammate Benjamin Cremaschi.

Admittedly, the visitors were not allowed to hold on to the lead for very long either, because just seven minutes later Thommy scored his second goal of the day.

With just over 20 minutes left on the clock, Suárez claimed the big hero when he scored the match-winning goal.
