We are off to another chilly start this morning with current temperatures ranging from 20s to the 40s. After we shake the chill, another pleasant and mild afternoon is on the way.
Our next system is getting itself together to the west and will soon draw some significant moisture into the area. There will be an uptick in wind speeds and cloud cover as it approaches.
A front starts to move in Saturday. Between the disturbance and more clouds, a couple of showers will be possible. This chance will mainly be in Central Kansas.
High temperatures stay above the norm over the weekend despite unsettled conditions gradually returning.
A few spotty showers will be possible Sunday too. There will be a bigger push of moisture by Sunday night.
Monday will be damp with rain lasting through much of the day. Rainfall totals will be between 1″ and 3″ with the most falling mainly in Central Kansas. Extreme Northwest Kansas will see the least.
There is potential for another system during the middle of next week that could bring us some more rain, possibly mixing with some snow to the west. The bigger weather story after Monday’s moisture is looking to be the chilly afternoons and freezing overnights that follow.
