KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating a shooting where an agent shot and killed someone who was armed in a home while the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force was trying to serve a warrant on Monday.
The FBI says this happened in the 3000 block of NW 73rd Street, which is slightly northeast of NW 72nd Street and NW Waukomis Drive in Kansas City’s Northland around 10 a.m.
The FBI says in a release that law enforcement officers knocked on a door, and when nobody answered, they went inside the home where they encountered the armed person.
That person was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. The release doesn’t mention whether any agent or other law enforcement officers were hurt.
The FBI says its Inspection Division is investigating the shooting and doesn’t have any further details at present.
