SUVA, NOV 27 – Fijian police confiscated more than 400 plants believed to be cannabis in a raid in an agricultural area in Savusavu, Vanua Levu Island, the country’s second largest island.
The operation was carried out by the Savusavu Operation team yesterday, as part of a larger effort to target known cannabis growing areas, according to reports Fiji Broadcasting Corporation today.
Fiji Police Chief of Operations Livai Driu said the owner of the farm has yet to be identified, and investigations are ongoing.
He emphasized that law enforcement agencies continue to intensify their efforts to deal with the illegal drug trade, which remains a challenging issue in the country. – Xinhua
