Firefighters' union donates 'Coats for Kids'

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Christmas came early for students at Beech Elementary School on Friday. Each student was given a brand-new coat.

Wichita Firefighters, International Association of Firefighters Local 135, in partnership with the Wichita Firefighters Charitable Fund and Cox Communications, arranged the giveaway.

The union says Coats for Kids is a yearly event offered by the Wichita Firefighters Charitable Fund. Cox Communications has now joined the cause.

Firefighters and Cox employees volunteered to buy the coats and to go to the school to hand them out to the children.
