BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 30 OCT – Five houses of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Housing Assistance Scheme (Foundation) for the needy will start construction in November this year, namely three houses in Temburong District contracted to The Ruman Power Co Company, a house in the Belait District and a house in the Brunei and Muara Districts contracted to Syarikat Impian Reka Bina Sdn Bhd.
Accordingly, the Foundation held a Contract Signing Ceremony for the Construction of Subsidized Houses under the Foundation’s Housing Scheme Assistance located at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 4th Floor, Yayasan Building Complex, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and continued with the signing of a contract between the Foundation and the two appointed companies, namely Syarikat The Ruman Power Co and Syarikat Impian Reka Bina Sdn Bhd.
Signing on behalf of the Foundation is the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports as a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and also the Chairman of the Foundation’s Assistance Review Committee, the Honorable Dato Seri Setia Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad and the Deputy Minister (Security and Law) in the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) ) as Acting Managing Director of the Foundation, Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu.
The signing of the agreement contract was witnessed by the guest of honor of the event, the Minister at JPM and the Second Minister of Defense as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
For this agreement contract, the concept and design of the Foundation’s assisted house construction is more modern and equivalent to the current technology in the needs of low-cost house development that can also be fully completed in a short period of time.
The housing assistance project under the Yayasan Housing Scheme Assistance is dedicated to people who are less able and their living conditions
poor and unsafe to live in.
This assistance is also intended to give them the opportunity to improve their family’s standard of living in all aspects of life.
According to the statement, from the beginning of the housing assistance project implemented by the Foundation in 1996 until now, a total of 176 houses have been built across the country to give new hope to 176 families to continue their daily lives in a comfortable and safe home environment.
Also present at the signing ceremony were senior officials in the relevant government departments as well as officers and staff of the Foundation.
