Sport: The 24-year-old Camara was also absent from a photo where the rest of the Monaco players stood in front of a banner in support of the international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.

Now Amelie Oudea-Castera is at Camara’s throat.

– Such behavior must be met with tough sanctions, both for the player and the club that allowed him to do it. It is completely unacceptable, and I have told the league organization what I thought about it, Oudea-Castera tells radio station RTL.

After the home match against Nantes, which Monaco won 4-0, coach Adi Hütter was asked about Camara’s decision.

– First of all, I would like to say that we as a team support the marking, but for him it was a personal choice. We will talk to him internally. Beyond that, I will not comment on the matter, Hütter told the AFP news agency.

Co-founder of the international organization “Inclusive Sport Foundation”, Jeff Puech, reassures himself that Camara’s choice is a small exception.

– There were only two players in the top two divisions who chose to show any form of resistance. Not a single coach or referee did the same, Puech said.
