Fraud: SOM Center Road
The staff at the Deacon’s auto dealership reported Nov. 23 that an online purchased had been made fraudulently.
It was discovered when a transporter came to pick up a vehicle that showed as purchased by a Kansas man but was set to be delivered in Georgia.
Officers called the number associated with the purchaser but the person who answered immediately hung up when they identified themselves as law enforcement.
It was discovered that the Kansas man had previously been a victim of identity theft. That man was advised of the incident.
Disorderly conduct: Beta Drive
Officers responded to a business in the 700-block around 4:30 a.m. Nov. 20 after an employee attacked a supervisor after he was disciplined, suspended and sent home.
The Euclid man, 45, had disagreed with the matter and briefly left the business but returned.
Management declined to press charges but terminated the man’s employment.
Officers gave him a courtesy ride with his home along with a warning not to return to the business.
Family trouble: Wilson Mills Road
A woman said Nov. 23 that her daughter was slapped by her grandmother after an athletic practice at the high school in late August.
She said her daughter was now denying the incident had occurred, but she wanted to see surveillance video from the school to confirm.
Officers confirmed with the school that video from that far back would no longer be available.
Impaired driving: Wilson Mills Road
Officers stopped a vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Nov. 24 that was traveling east in the westbound lanes and immediately detected an odor of alcohol on the driver’s breath.
The Westerville man, 37, refused to take a breath test or sobriety tests and told the officers to take him to jail, which they did, charging him with OVI and citing him for multiple traffic violations.
Psychiatric situation: Wilson Mills Road
A man drove into his garage door at his home around 1:15 a.m. Nov. 25.
The man’s son said that his father had been sending him concerning messages.
Officers and paramedics responded to the home and the man was taken to a hospital to be checked for possible injuries and given a mental health evaluation.
Neighbor trouble: Glenview Drive
A woman reported an issue Nov. 25 with a neighbor who she said he runs an automotive business out of his home.
She said that he regularly pulls into her driveway across the road to back into his driveway and when he does so, his headlights disturb her.
Officers spoke to the neighbor. He said he was unaware that it bothered her and would stop doing it.
Theft: SOM Center Road
A man reported a missing iPhone from a delivery to his home Nov. 25.
He said two phones were delivered in separate packages, but one had been opened and the phone was missing.
