CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two years removed from a 10-year major league playing career, Guardians rookie skipper Stephen Vogt was named the 2024 Manager of the Year in the American League by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.
Vogt, 40, becomes the third Cleveland manager to take home the top honor, joining Terry Francona (2013, 2016, 2022) and Eric Wedge (2007). Vogt recieved 27 of 30 first place votes to finish ahead of Kansas City’s Matt Quatraro (two first-place votes) and Tigers manager A.J. Hinch (one first-place vote).
