Policy: Radio Metronome reports that his condition is stable, while an official tells the AP news agency that it is not known.

Conille is in hospital in the capital Port-au-Prince, AP learns. A transitional council was appointed in April to lead Haiti, which for several years has struggled with political instability, unrest and humanitarian crises.

Conille was among the nine members of the council, and in May he was appointed to act as the country’s prime minister. He came from the position of head of operations for the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) in the region.

Conille was also the country’s prime minister from 2011 to 2012.
