Crime and justice: The fallen film mogul Weinstein had to appear in court in connection with a number of unresolved questions about the trial that will come up after Labor Day in September.

In 2020, Weinstein was convicted of rape and sexual harassment and arrived at the courthouse in a wheelchair and with guards. Last month, the conviction was thrown out by New York’s highest court, citing that a judge had improperly allowed the use of testimony.

Later this year, this entire complex of cases will come before the court again. Weinstein was serving a 23-year prison sentence in New York. He has also been sentenced to 16 years in prison in Los Angeles in 2022 for another rape case.

Donald Trump was in the same court building to attend the judge’s legal briefing for the jury, who then withdrew to make their assessments in the so-called kickback case.
