Hatem was first employed as deputy chairman in 2022. He was then appointed and later employed as general manager of the Antiracist Centre, which works to combat racism in Norway.

In the press release, the foundation points out that Hatem has led the center through a phase of change.

– The period has been characterized by strong polarization in the public discourse, gross racist statements and considerable activity in right-wing extremist circles. He has mobilized the grassroots for a united effort against racism, writes the Antiracist Centre.

Recently, he has devoted a lot of time to the jubilee year’s various events and measures.
