The police authorities of AT Acropolis proceeded to arrest a 26-year-old Cypriot, who allegedly tried to remove stones and parts of marble from the Holy Rock of the Acropolis.
According to the information, the police authorities were notified by the guardian of the archaeological site, on the evening of Sunday, March 5. The security guard notified the Police that a man has been spotted removing stones and pieces of marble from the site.
The man was arrested and prosecuted for violating the antiquities legislation, as well as for the possession of weapons, as according to information, a knife was also found in his possession.
