Hope Network empowers the role of youth

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 6 NOV – The Global Network for Youth Competitiveness Hope Network under the management of Bahrain’s Ministry of Youth Affairs was successfully launched yesterday in Bahrain.

Present at the event was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Honorable Dato Seri Setia Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, together with ministers responsible for youth affairs and several organizations from Cambodia, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Turkey, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Cyprus, Italy, the Republic of South Africa, the Republic of Tunisia, the Russian Federation, Libya, the United States and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Also present were members of the United Nations Youth Office, Sirius Federal Territories Council and the Arab League.

During the launch ceremony, Yang Berhormat Dato also had the opportunity to meet his counterpart, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Bahrain, Her Excellency Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfigi, to discuss the challenges being faced in youth affairs and exchange views on best practices. as well as potential bilateral cooperation.

Yang Berhormat Dato along with other ministers also signed Hope Network Charter as a sign of Brunei Darussalam’s support for Bahrain’s efforts in empowering and elevating the role of youth for global progress.

It is in line with the goals of the National Youth Policy and Strategy 2020-2035, Negara Brunei Darussalam, which include youth empowerment by encouraging increased cooperation and exchange of youth organizations at the regional and international levels, as well as youth gaining international recognition in various successes.

The Honorable Dato was also accompanied by the Power of Attorney of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to the Government of Bahrain from officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (KKBS).

Hope Network this is intended as a comprehensive platform in providing services to countries around the world that have recognized the importance of fostering hope and providing positive confidence among the youth; support the role of the youth in the development of their respective countries and around the world.

The launch ceremony was held in conjunction with the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa ascension to the throne.

The initiative is led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa who represents His Majesty King Hamad in humanitarian and youth affairs.

Member countries Hope Network including Brunei have showcased the best practices in youth development in their respective countries through videos during the ceremony.
