Weather: Over large parts of the country, Workers’ Day was marked on Wednesday. Many enjoyed the day off outside, as the weather was glorious in large parts of southern Norway.

– It is not unusual for us to get such temperatures at this time, says meteorologist on duty Haldis Berge at the Meteorological Institute.

She states that it is over 20 degrees in a number of counties.

– It is hot in Agder, Western Norway, Møre and Romsdal and in Eastern Norway to name a few places, she adds.

Earlier on Thursday, Berge was quoted as saying that there was a heat record in Norway on Wednesday, but the Meteorological Institute refutes to NTB that there has been a historical heat record. However, it was the hottest day so far this year.

– The weather is generally very nice in Western Norway. Today it has been a bit cloudy there, but tomorrow it will probably be cloudless – then it could be between 20 and 25 degrees, says Berge.

On Thursday, the weather will be fairly similar in Eastern Norway.

– The weather is fine in the Oslo area now, but it will be cooler next week. That is what characterizes spring. The weather is a bit changeable.

The meteorologist is clear that it is still spring – one must not be deceived. You should enjoy the nice weather while you can.

Nor are Northern Norway weather winners this time.

– The weather is perfectly fine all the way up to Bodø in Nordland, but there is cloudy weather and precipitation in Troms and Finnmark.

The warmest was in Bergen with 23.6 degrees.

In Agder there may also be some local showers and there are chances of thunder in the southern part of the country as early as Wednesday evening.
