Sport: The crash came during the first lap of the iconic Grand Prix race. Magnussen ran into the car of Perez (Red Bull), and then Perez’s car hit Hülkenberg. Thus, both Haas cars were out early.

– I had my front up along his front wheel. He ran his normal line and I trusted him to hold it, but then I was pushed into the wall. You should be able to trust that a little space will be left for you in such situations, Magnussen told Viaplay.

Viaplay expert Kunal Shah believed that Magnussen must take the blame.

– It is an unforced error and should not happen when you have as much experience as him (Magnussen). There was no way for him to get past when it was so tight, Shah stated.

The TV images showed that Perez’s car gained the most momentum. A lot of wreckage on the course meant that the race had to be stopped for quite some time for clean-up.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc started in the best starting position in the race at home.
