MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 10 months after he was caught carrying a lock knife in Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, on July 22. Paul Vail, aged 48, of Arnesby Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. At the time he was already subject to a suspended prison sentence for offences including assault. Vail was told that he had a “flagrant disregard” for court orders.
A MAN who caused a disturbance and refused to leave the A&E department at the Royal Bolton Hospital on April 22 has been fined £150. Jordan Longworth, aged 20, of Singleton Avenue, Horwich, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.
A BURGLAR targeted a primary school and stole four light pads, worth £80. cott Shaw, aged 45, of Chorley Old Road, Bolton, admitted burgling St Peter and St Paul’s RC School on May 11, 2020, after initially denying the offence. He also admitted assaulting two paramedics and a police officer in Knowsley Street on December 2, 2020. He was given a community sentence which includes him being electronically tagged and subject to a 9pm to 7am sentence for 12 months and must also have treatment for drug addiction and participate in 10 days of rehabilitation activities as well as pay a total of £180 in compensation.
A SHOPLIFTER who stole washing tablets and liquid, worth £23.50, from Wilko in Bolton on July 20, has been ordered to have treatment for drug addiction. Samantha Flatley, aged 34, of Thornbank North, Bolton, pleaded guilty to theft and must participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities. At the time she was subject to conditional discharges for other thefts.
A WOMAN who used threatening behaviour towards two people in Bolton on July 22 has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months. Tanya Kornas, aged 33, of Copthorne Drive, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.
A SHOPLIFTER who targeted Bolton store, stealing gift sets and sunglasses, has been jailed for 23 weeks. Roy Allen, aged 35, of no fixed address, stole men’s gift sets, worth a total of £500, from Boots on July 11 and Rayban sunglasses, valued at £400, from Scrivens opticians on June 15. At the time Allen was already subject to a suspended sentence for thefts.
A DRUNKEN woman who assaulted two police officers on May 15 has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. Leanne Crompton, aged 32, of Varley Road, Bolton, admitted two assaults and being drunk and disorderly in Bolton Road and Central Drive, Westhoughton She must participate in 35 days of rehabilitation activities and pay her victims a total of £350 in compensation.
