A woman is in a coma after suffering from a dramatic fall at Robbie Williams’ concert in Sydney, Australia.
The fan, believed to be in her 70s, was taken to hospital with severe head injuries and placed into a medically induced coma after the accident.
She is thought to have been on the upper grandstand level and trying to climb over seats when she fell in what has been called a ‘serious incident’.
An ambulance service spokesperson confirmed to Sky News Australia that she was in critical condition after paramedics were called to the scene at 10.15pm.
Venues NSW confirmed in a statement: ‘This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time. The patron was attended to immediately by venue staff and a nearby guest who is a qualified medical professional.
‘Medics arrived shortly after and the patron was taken from the venue by ambulance to hospital.’
Robbie has not yet addressed the fall but did post on Instagram and wrote: ‘Sydney: that was an unforgettable evening, thank you – I love you, Australia. Congratulations to Daniel and Lauren – I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Rob x.’
