The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposes to expand the conditions for assessing recipients of direct support, whether they are active farmers, from the beginning of next year. Thus, more farmers will be able to apply for the relevant direct support. This follows from the proposal submitted by the ministry to the comment procedure.
The proposal of the government regulation brings the domestic legislation in the area of direct payments and non-project supports into line with the modified Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy for the years 2023 to 2027. A negative impact on the business environment can be brought about by the reduction or rejection of the requested supports due to possible non-compliance with the conditions. However, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, the deletion of the condition prohibiting the use of plant protection products in the management of fallow land with vegetation represents a positive impact.
