Colorado QB Throws Two Forward Passes In One Play, Intercepted

It seems like forever ago that coach Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes were 3-0 and in the top-twenty of the AP Poll. And, things reached a low point on one particular play during the team’s humiliating 56-14 loss to Washington State on the road.

Shedeur Sanders left the game with an injury in the first half, and second-string quarterback Ryan Staub was ineffective. That set the stage for third-stringer Gavin Kuld to enter the game, and he surely left his mark on it.

And, with around five minutes remaining in the third quarter, one of the funniest plays you will see in college football all year. Take a look.

Oh no. Gavin, what are you doing, bud? You ca n’t throw two forward passes! Yes, you can catch the first one as long as it is touched by an opposing player and advance it. But, you can’t throw it again! Washington State declined the illegal forward pass penalty, and the interception stood.

For Colorado, the only word is yikes. They’ve now lost 7 of their last 8 games, and all of that early season hype around Coach Prime is gone for the time being. Yes, they’re better than last year’s 1-11 debacle under then-coach Karl Dorrell. But, this team needs to add a lot of talent if it wants to be a truly good football team when they enter the Big 12 next season.

Next week, they play Utah, and I can’t imagine that will go well for the Buffs.
