General admission tickets for the highly-anticipated 2024 edition of Glastonbury Festival went on sale at 9am on Sunday, November 19th and sold out within an hour.
The festival took to Twitter to share the news, stating, “Tickets for Glastonbury 2024 have now Sold Out. Our thanks to everyone who bought one and we’re sorry to those of you who missed out, on a morning when demand greatly exceeded supply.”
They also stated that any cancelled or returned tickets will be up for re-sale in the spring of 2024. The festival is set to take place from June 26th to June 30th.
The unwavering high demand for tickets follows from the 2023 edition of the festival, which also sold out in under an hour. Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John headlined the Pyramid Stage, with the festival receiving criticism for the lack of diversity in its headliners.
Headliners for the upcoming 2024 festival are yet to be announced, though co-organiser Emily Eavis has hinted at a huge American artist and a female headliner.
Eavis recently took to Twitter to state, “As always, there is much speculation and excitement about who is playing next year at Glastonbury. We are working on the line-up day and night at the moment, but it’s still changing every day.”
“The story about our confirmed headliners is untrue,” she clarified, “As always, we love your enthusiasm and guesswork – but accurate news on headliners will be with you sometime in the new year!”
