On November 21, due to martial law and war, there is no large-scale gathering on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Independence Square in kyiv. However, the blue and yellow flags that fly on the green space next to the Independence monument each recall the thousands of lives of soldiers who fell at the front since the almost ten-year war which followed the Euromaidan, the pro-democratic and pro-European movement which preceded the February Revolution, or Revolution of Dignity, in February 2014.
