Indonesia received an investment of US$8.5 billion from a UK company

JAKARTA, NOV 22 – Indonesia received investment commitments of US$8.5 billion from 19 leading United Kingdom (UK) companies during President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to the country.

The agreement, announced on Thursday following the CEO Roundtable Forum, underscores growing confidence in Indonesia’s economic prospects with the country’s political stability and commitment to clean and efficient governance playing a key role in attracting foreign investment.

“We have just met with the leaders of some of the largest companies here, and they have committed US$8.5 billion in investment. This reflects their confidence in the Indonesian economy,” said Prabowo in London, according to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat today.

Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani who was also present at the meeting at Lancaster House said the Chief Executive Officers are very interested in sectors such as energy transition, infrastructure, education and healthcare.

Prabowo and his delegation arrived in London on Wednesday for the visit at the invitation of the UK government.

According to Prabowo, his discussions with Prime Minister Keir Starmer focused on efforts to strengthen Indonesia-UK relations, with Starmer expressing a keen interest in working together in sectors such as the economy, fisheries, education, healthcare and defence. – Named
