INEOS moves to Burgos with Geoghegan Hart, Rodriguez and Sivakov, no Bernal in selection

INEOS Grenadiers comes with a very strong team at the start of the Tour of Burgos. The British formation is counting on, among other things, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Carlos Rodriguez and Pavel Sivakovy. The Spanish stage race starts on Tuesday, and has five stages.

It is clear that INEOS Grenadiers is going to the Tour of Burgos with classification ambitions. Geoghegan Hart is the biggest name in the roster, but the Briton has had a hard time confirming since his overall win in the 2020 Giro d’Italia. His performances in the Critérium du Dauphiné were encouraging, with twice a ninth place in the daily results and an eighth place in the general classification. Can he continue the line in the Tour of Burgos?

Another big name in the roster is Rodriguez. The still only 21-year-old Spaniard is stringing together places of honor, and with a ride in the Tour of the Basque Country and the Spanish championship, the climber already has two victories on the counter. He already proved that the form is good in the Clásica San Sebastián, where he finished fifth. Pavel Sivakov and Laurens De Plus will also be at the start on behalf of INEOS Grenadiers. The Frenchman was even second in the Clasica, behind the unapproachable Remco Evenepoel. The Belgian is trying to get back to his old level after health problems.
